Our first award today goes to the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center at Morton College.  Located in Cicero, the college is one of Illinois’ greatest treasures.  For over 100 years, Morton College has produced theatrical productions not just for the campus, but for the greater Community.

The Jedlicka Performing Arts Center produces a 4-show season of plays and musicals.  It is a grand 300-seat proscenium theatre.  The shows at the Jedlicka are a mix of student and professional productions.  It is a grand space for theatre.  Morton College and its Board of Trustees is proud to support the Jedlicka.

Retired Associate Dean Micheal Kott has been involved with the Jedlicka since 1997.  He has acted, produced, and directed over 120 shows.  As a Dean, Micheal awarded over 30 full-ride scholarships to Morton College.  The passion for theatre and the theatre arts is clear.  One special aspect of Jedlicka is their passion for premiere performances.  Just last year, they produced the North American premieres of Take At Midnight and The Go-Between.  This commitment is so important to the theatrical arts in Illinois.

ITA is proud to partner with the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center in just a few weeks as they host the State-Wide American Association of Community Theatres Festival.  This partnership is an outstanding opportunity to showcase the wonders of the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center.  We are so proud to establish this relationship.

Micheal, thank you for your dedicated service.  The ITA hopes that the Jedlicka keeps producing for another 100 years!
